Suspect in custody after at least 11 stabbed to Michigan Walmart

At least 11 people are in the hospital after a knife day on Saturday at Michigan Walmart.

Sheriff of the Great Travers county Michael Shi said that a 42-year-old man who was alone in the Traverse City store and used a difficult knife to apply almost a dozen people.

The suspect, which the authorities were not publicly found, was taken into custody without injuries for a few minutes. Citizens in Walmart also helped detain a person and treat victims.

The Ministry of Health, the nearest hospital, said the five victims were in serious condition and six in critical condition. While their ages have not yet been released, the sheriff’s office was confirmed that they were not the first respondents and Walmart staff.

Shi said that the man “seems” to the resident of Michigan, but when asked if he could say that the suspect was, he said he “would not comment.”

According to Deputy Director Dan Bongin, the FBI agents respond to support.

In a statement to the digital Fox News, Press -Secretary of Walmart Joe Pennington said “such violence is unacceptable.”

“Our thoughts with those who were injured and we are grateful for the quick actions of the first respondents,” Pennington wrote in a statement. “We will continue to cooperate closely with law enforcement during the investigation.”

The Governor of Michigan Greantchen Witmer wrote in a message X, which continues to keep a close eye on the situation.

“I support the connection with law enforcement agencies about the horrible news from the traverse -Sity,” Witmer wrote. “Our thoughts stand with the victims and the community that escape from this brutal violence. I am grateful to the first respondents for their quick response to keep the suspect.”

Traverse City is a small town in northern Michigan, approximately 140 miles from Grand Repids. It is placed on the water on Lake MichiganGrand -Trade -bei.
