Carrington vs. Heita: Top Rank’s Final ESPN ESPN event, hometown pressure and performance expectations

Bruce Carrington is eager to “act” for his fans tonight in his main struggle of 12 laps against Mateus Heita in the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York City. Carrington (15-0, 9 kos) and Heita (14-0, 9 kos) fight for the interim heavy weight title of the WBC.

Carrington, 28, was chosen by the top to be part of the company’s final struggle with ESPN tonight. They have been with the broadcast giant for eight years since 2017.

“I have to give my people something to talk after they get out of the arena. I want to give them the feeling that they not only go to a boxing game. They go to an event,” Carrington said about their struggles in front of their crowd of the hometown tonight in the MSG Theater.

The first rank chose the lower classification Heita to give Carrington a better shot to win. Obviously, they saw how the vulnerable Bruce was seen in his fight against Sulaiman Segawa last August. They do not want to put Carrington with any additional risk fight until they have their title.

“I could say (Rafael) Espinoza (it would be the toughest at 126), but there are certain things that make the struggle easier for me. I could say Nick Ball, but there are certain things that make the struggle facilitate the struggle,” said Carrington.
