Estefania Piñeres provides a multi-layered performance

NetflixDelirium puts a lot forward Estefefania Piñeres‘Shoulders as she has to play the woman, Augustina Londoño, whose breakdown sets the whole series moving. Piñeres is more than holding its part with an emotionally raw and physically compelling turn as Augustina mentally retreats from the world. That brings Augustina of her ability to fully communicate what she goes through, but her pain and grief are in every move piñeres make and in her facial expressions.
Piñeres is also featured in the backs of Augustina’s younger years, which sheds light on her relationships with her husband, Fernando Aguilar (Juan Pablo Raba), and the first great love of her life, Fredy Rodriguez (Juan Pablo Urrego). But the very interesting parts deal with Augustina’s dynamics with her mother, Eugenia (Paola turbay), and the rest of her family. All the past scenes prepare the way for the mental state of Augustina in the present, and the performance of Piñeres makes two half of her life fit together.
The story unexpectedly turns into crime drama

NetflixThe promos for Delirium Without telegraph the fact that a fredy side of the story becomes an epic crime. Fredy’s past is unveiled as a poor young man in the first episode, and through the rest of the backlashes, we see his rise and fall as a drug smuggler. He even gets a nickname, “El Midas,” who clings to him for the rest of his life.
It seems that nothing can slow down netflix momentum even during the hottest months of summer. Netflix’s new crime drama, The Waterfront, dominates the charts and appears to be a strong candidate for renovation. Ditto Unamed, a crime drama set in Yosemite National Park. Fredy’s options affect Augustina as well as himself, and ultimately those decisions explain why they did not come together despite continuous connection between them. He made his actions invaluable to the Londoño family while also keeping him in Augustina’s life. But choosing that dark path resulted in consequences that Fredy or Augustina cannot reveal or pass in full.

Not everyone is going to have the patience to go through all eight episodes of Delirium. Admittedly, the story may have been dragged out a little too long. But when the show reveals why Augustina was shattered, it is for exactly the reason you could have predicted from the beginning almost: a generation trauma.
Without giving away too many spoilers towards the end of the show, viewers will see the proverbial straw that finally broke Augistina. But there is also some hope that he could improve in time, even if he is not necessarily the way he would have predicted him. That ending may prove to be a bit divisive, but it feels like a logical way to end the story.
