The euphoria that Bengaluru took after the historic of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Maiden (IPL) Premier League Victory (IPL) On June 4, 2025, it has been tragically overshadowed by a deadly stampede. What began as a cheerful celebration outside M. Chinnaswamy’s stadium descended to chaos, alleging at least 11 individuals and leaving more than 70 injured. The incident has not only fallen into mourning, but also on a fierce debate on accountability and RCB’s future in the IPL, calling for the banning of newly crowned traction champions.
The tragic events unfolded during a greeting ceremony scheduled for the RCB victory team. The original plan for a large victory parade through Bengaluru, which culminated in the celebrations of the stadium fans, was altered in the last minute due to police concerns about the control of the people. This short story cancellation of the Vidhana Soudha parade, while it was intended to mitigate the risks, instead created important confusion and bottlenecks. Despite a strong police presence, witnesses described the scene as manageable, with tens of thousands of fervent fans converging on all directions, desperate to see their Cricket heroes. As the immense pressure was mounted at the stadium gates, the panic was put in, causing the stampede and multiple fatalities due to crushing and asphyxiation.
Immediate people, the Karnataka government launched a quick investigation, submitting police reports against RCB, DNA event organizer, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), the stadium operator. Authorities have stated that the franchise and its associates proceeded to the event without obtaining the necessary police permits and, critically, ignored the previous warnings on the security of the crowd. The seriousness of the situation was further stood out by the suspension of several police officers and the arrest of RCB Marketing Chief As legal investigation intensified.
The tragedy has promoted a multi-punic response from various official and judicial bodies, each of which is weighted by guilt and possible consequences. The Central Administrative Court (CAT) has made a primary blame for the RCB, saying that the last -minute social ads of the franchise and a clear lack of coordination with the police created an indisputable situation. The cat’s ruling declared unequivocally, “RCB did not take the proper permission or consent of the police. Suddenly they published on social media … Due to a shortage of time, police could not make the right agreements.”

Fulfilling more RCB problems, the BCCI Ombudsman has also sought written answers from both RCB and KSCA. This follows the serious complaints alleating “Great negligence and violation of safety rules” With some calls even defending the suspension of RCB of the future IPL tournaments. The BCCI, although it was distant from direct control over post-body celebrations, has acknowledged “Serious lapses” In the organization of Bengaluru events, stricter protocols for these events can be implemented in the coming years.
The spectrum of a ban or suspension has a large amount of RCB, an unprecedented development in the history of the IPL. There has even been speculation that the current property of RCB could consider the discharge of the franchise to move away from the controversy. As the planning of the IPL of 2026 begins, the findings of the court and the ongoing investigation continue to maintain the club and its management under intense control.
