Looking back the USYK amateur race in 2008 at the China Olympic Games, lost to Clemente Russo in Italy 7-4. In 2011, at the Baku World Championships, Azerbaijan, he defeated the quarterfinals Artur Beeterbiev 17-13 to win at the finals.
In 2012, Usyk won the Gold Medal at the London Olympic Games, defeating Beeterbiev again and the finals reversed his loss to Clemente Russo. Its amateur general record was 335-15.
In his career, Usyk in his tenth struggle won his first world title by defeating Poland Krzysztof Glowacki, 26-0, for the Wbo World Cruiser title in Poland.
In his fourth defense he won a unified title by defeating WBC champion, Mairis Briedis, 23-0 from Latvia to Riga. In his next struggle he added the title of IBF by defeating Russia Murat Gassiev, 26-0, in Russia in 2018. He defended the three titles by defeating Tony “Firemel” Bellew, 30-2-1, to stop in 8 by improving his record until 16-0 in November 2018.
In the Lone USYK struggle, he then defeated Chazz Witherspoon, 38-3, in seven rounds in Chicago. He won his first minor heavyweight title by defeating Derek Chisora, 32-9, by Wbo Inter-Continental Title in the United Kingdom.
In his next struggle, Usyk won the heavy weight titles IBF, IBO and WBO, which is being defeated by Anthony Joshua, 24-1, in the United Kingdom, in September 2021 and again.
Then in Poland he defeated Daniel ‘Dynamite’ Dubois, 19-1, by knockout in nine rounds. Next May 2024 he added the WBC title by defeating Tyson Fury, 34-0-1, to Riyadh. Again, in the resale he defeated Fury. Then, in his most recent struggle he defeated Dubois, 22-2, by Knockout in five rounds in the United Kingdom, improving his record up to 24-0 with 15 stops.
At the age of 38, this Ukraine’s undefeated southpaw seems to have finally gained recognition as one of the best pounds in the world’s pound boxers.
