Scheana Shay indicates support for Jax TaylorChoose not to return for season 3 of The valley.
“To Jax, I think that is a smart decision,” said Shay, 40, Wednesday, July 23, a chapter of the podcast “so bad it’s good”. “I think that is a healthy decision.”
Shay noted that Taylor, 46, should be prioritizing himself, adding, “I think he needs to focus on his mental health and sobriety at the moment. Be rehabilitation, try to film a TV show and get the fomo (fear of missing out) and all that. None of that was healthy for him.”
He finished: “I think this is a very insightful and mature decision for him to focus on his sobriety. Hopefully he will continue on that path not only for himself, but for (his son) Cruz and to Brittany.”
Us Weekly broke the news on July 16 that JAX will not return to The valley.
“After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I will step away from the next season of the Valley,” said Jax Us in a unique statement. “At the moment, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, mental health and choparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself – especially for our son, Cruz.”
Jax, who shares Cruz, 4, with Brittany, 35, documented his time in rehabilitation for mental health at the season 2 of the Bravo series. He subsequently checked for treatment again for cocaine addiction.
“I’ve been in and out of using cocaine for a while. I wouldn’t use it every day. Months we would draw,” he said only Us in March. “And then I would do it as this week, maybe twice a month or three times a month. It became very bad nonetheless. When the divorce started, I felt I was doing it leisurely.”
After Jax confirmed his exit, Andy Cohen lean in on the news.
“Jax announced yesterday that he was going to be stepping away from the valley,” said Andy, 57, in an episode of Andy Cohen Live of Siriusxm. “I’m very pleased with his decision and I think he reads the room well and I think the most important thing is that I hope he can work on all his issues.”
Executive Producer Bravo teased the discussion He had with Jax during tapping the season 2 reunion of the valley, saying, “I have, a kind of, a serious conversation with him about his need for control and his anger issues, and what he is going to take to get to a better place with Brittany and in the world.”
Andy expressed his hope that Jax “takes the time to press in” his sobriety and mental health away from the cameras.
“It seems very committed, from our conversations to his sobriety, and hopefully time away from the cameras will encourage that further and encourage him further to bring him together,” he concluded.
