The GAG order on Idaho University’s case has been raised following Bryan KohbergerSentencing – and more details about the murders are being revealed.
On November 13, 2022, Kohberger entered the 1122 King Road residence in Moscow, Idaho and Stabbed College Students Maddie. Kayleee goncalves. Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin to death. He was arrested more than a month after the murders and initially pleaded not guilty.
In July 2025-month before his trial was due to start Kohberger was guilty to four charges of first-degree murder and one account of a felony burglary as part of a deal that took the death penalty off the table. Was sentenced to four years in prison without the possibility of parole later that month.

However, the Moscow Police Department has released investigation records related to the case.

Prior to his conviction, Kohberger was studying for a PhD at the University of Washington Province in Pullman. He was seen outside of Road King’s house 23 times before the murders.
Kohberger used a KA-bar knife with “a lot of power” when murdering the four college students, documents reveal. Although the murder weapon was never restored, a knife vagina improved in 1122 King Road helped lead to Kohberger’s arrest.
Kohberger asked for a solicitor during his first interview with the police in December 2022. He has not spoken about the motive for the crime. When asked if he had words for the victim’s families at his sentencing hearing on July 2025, Kohberger replied: “I respectfully decline.”
Documents released by the Moscow Police Department reveal that “it is clear that an intense battle had taken place” between Kernodle and Kohberger based on the “protective knife wounds” on her hands. Her body was discovered with more than 50 stab wounds on the floor of her bedroom.
Chapin was found dead in the bederodle bed, the documents reveal, indicating that he had “stabbing wounds” and that he was “covered with blood.”
Mogen and Goncalves were also found dead in the same bed, Moscow Police Department documents revealed. Mogen had wounds to her arms, hands and face.
The documents reveal that Goncalves is “unrecognizable” following the “damage” to her face – according to multiple accounts by the policemen on the spot. She had more than 20 stab wounds.
Yes. Both Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke survive the attack. The new documents reveal that Mortensen has wronged -recognizing two of its deceased fellow -countrymen because of the gravity of their wounds. He saw Mortensen Kohberger walking through the house but “he was drunk and did not want to believe what was happening.” Transcripts of her interview with the police reveal that Mortensen heard what she thought he was a man’s voice saying, “You’re going to be right. I’m going to help you.”

“What happened that night changed everything,” he said, in part. “For her, four beautiful, truly, compassionate people were taken from this world for no reason.”
Mortensen added, “Live is how I honor them. Speaking today is to help me find some sort of justice for them, and I will never let him take that from me. Maybe he has taken so much from me, but he will never have to take my voice.”
Funke also wrote a letter for the hearing, but was read in court by a friend.
Kohberger received four life sentences without the possibility of parole.
