“I think he got something in his head who said, ‘Well, this is going to be, the last thing I ever want to do,'” Iommi continued. “Whether he thought he was going to die or what, I don’t know. But he really wanted to do it, he was determined to do it. Fair customs, he had done it.”

Iommi recalled that Osbourne did not look good in exercises for the band’s final performance, but his death came as a “shock” nonetheless.

“We didn’t want him there every day in the rehearsal because he was too much. He couldn’t stand it,” Iommi shared. “They would bring him in, he would have sat down and sang a few songs, and then we would talk about some old times trash, laughing, and then he would have gone.”

Osbourne’s family, including his wife SharHe broke the news of his death in an emotional statement on Tuesday. “With more sadness than words can only convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne died this morning,” read the statement. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect the privacy of our family at this time.”

Iommi said he was in disbelief when he got the news.

“When I heard yesterday, he couldn’t sink in. I thought, ‘It can’t be.’ I only had the day before.

Iommi added, “We didn’t expect him to go that fast, really. Well, we didn’t expect him to go.”
