Spain reached the final of the European Women’s Championship for the first time, while they left for Germany after additional time at a semifinals meeting absorbing Zurich.
Aitana Bonmati won 113 to give La Roja his first victory over Germany and set up a match in his mouth with England in a rerun of the 2023 World Cup final.
In a constantly changing impulse game, both parties were small in a small way to their respective goalkeepers, who removed an impressive series of savings during an exciting 120 minutes.
But in the end, the contest was established, rather properly, for one of the best players in the world, as Spain maintains its perfect record in the tournament this summer before the final of Sunday.
As the action was deployed
The first chance of the game fell to Germany. In seven minutes, Klara Buhl ran beyond the Spanish posterior line, but could only produce a left shot that dragged the brand.
Spain, perhaps predictably, stated its dominion in possession from the outside; Twice Ballon d’Or winner Bonmati began to dictate the game from the heart of the Migger de la Roja.
But the world champions had to wait until 20 minutes to record their first actual view of the target. Esther Gonzalaz took half a sweet volleyball, but Ann-Katrin Berger, the hero of Germany among the poles against France in the quarter of the end, brilliantly announced the effort on the bar to maintain the draw.
Despite not seeing much of the ball, the Germans continued to develop their own opportunities. Halfway through half, a cross on the right from the dangerous Jule brand headed for Giovanna Hoffmann, but RB Leipzig Forward could not provide the required final touch.
Then Spain struck with a lot of possibilities. First, Irene Paredes headed against the foot of the post before Bonmati arrived at a shot that stood safely in the arms of Berger.
In the German caps, Spain seemed to have set against an impenetrable force. Once again, the 34 -year -old was in inspired, frustrating both Gonzalez and Claudia Pina and in the enlightening half of contrasting play styles.
Germany was flying after the break. After several stockings, Buhl approached when he entered from eight meters, but Cast Coll in Spain’s goal said that Berger was not the only goalkeeper to achieve plauded saves well with his legs.
Buhl, and in fact, many inside Stadion Letzigrund thought that he had given his team leadership when he squeezed a millimeter free launch of the brand’s width with only five minutes remaining.
Coll was then running while Germany pressed for a late winner. It was far from the hyperbole to say that he kept Spain in the competition, and he moved away a deviated shot that was destined for the back of the network before keeping track.
And so up to an extra time. With the delicacy contest, it was a game that would inevitably be determined by a single moment of brightness.
And that moment, a little properly, would come from one of the best in the world. With his back on the goal, Bonmati, the infection by meningitis on the eve of the tournament, made a doubt about his participation, allowed the ball to run between his legs, giving it a few inches of space near the Byline line.
It seemed like everyone, including Berger, who would cut the ball through the six-gardens box, but the Barcelona star trapped the German goalkeeper, making an effort on the nearby part and, in doing so, by sending his nation to a first final.
