Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz wins heavy weight title from WBC light, calls to Subriel Matias

Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz wants an immediate title against Subriel Matias for his heavy weight belt of Light WBC after capturing the 140 LB provisional belt with this organization last Saturday, surpassing the Omar Salcid replacement opponent for a unanimous decision of ten rounds at the MGM Grand Garden Arena de las Vegas.

Cruz vs. Matias: Title headline?

Matias recently defeated the 140-pound champion of WBC, Alberto Puello, for a majority decision of 12 rounds on July 12 in Queens to become the new belt bearer. However, Turki Alralikh has already announced that Matias will defend himself against the number 1 contestant of the WBC Dalton Smith in November. So let Pitbull Cruz have to wait until 2026 to have the opportunity to fight the winner of the Matias vs Smith struggle.

The style similar to Pitbull Zepeda

Cruz (28-3-1, 18 kos) looked like a smaller and less bulky version William ZepedaDominating the late sub-Sub-Salcid (20-3, 14 kos) with a high exit. The scores were 100-88, 99-89 and 99-89. Pitbull fights a lot like Zepeda, but not as skilled as he or she has the same production.

It was a strong performance by Pitbull, considering the level of his opponent. Cruz did not have to deal with his cryptonite, a pure boxer, as we saw in his loss before Jose ‘Rayo’ Valenzuela last August.

Rayo made Cruz look bad, overcoming it all night and leaving effortlessly from his hits. If Pitbull wants to avenge this loss, this would be a good time to fight Rayo, because he will not get the title he seeks against Matias at any time.
