It was abandoned in 2014 after the Espn Star station, which had invested about a billion dollars in rights after its failure when it was reached by the IPL, decided to withdraw due to increasing financial losses.

The CPI has decided to create an eight -member working group to review the international Cricket calendar from 2027. Sanjog Gupta, the new CEO of the ICC, will be part of this group, who will report his suggestions to the ICC Board, led by President Jay Shah.

While the current series of trial-India testing attracts global attention, most nations playing tests outside the Big 3 (India, England and Australia) struggle to generate format revenue.

South Africa, the reigning test champions, are not planned to house a home series until the end of 2026. The ICC, in collaboration with the BCCI, Cricket Australia and the ECB, has been discussing a two-level structure for the test cricket, which has been gaining support in recent months.

The ICC Council also approved the cricket rating process at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. It has issued a three -month ultimatum to the United States Cricket Board to solve various compliance problems.
