Manny Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 kos) and their coach Freddie Roach believe that they deserved a unanimous decision of 12 rounds by a “8-4” marker for their fight against WBC champion Welterweight Mario Barrio (29-2-2, 18 kos) on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Gran Garden de Las Vegas.
Roach says he wants Pacquiao to be immediately resuscitated with Barrios. It is not clear if this will happen. It would be more interesting to see that someone else has a chance instead of having a chance after the possibility of fighting for this belt.
“After 12 rounds, I thought I won 8-4. This was my analysis of the struggle. I was surprised by the announcement of being a tie,” said Manny Pacquiao to the Post-Lluita Press ConferenceReaving the 12 -round draw against WBC champion Mario Barrios.
Pacquiao did not do enough to win. A tie was fair or a nearby victory for Barrios because he was landing the best shots and did a good job to keep it calm. We cannot that fighters have repeated opportunities to fight for a title if they fail in their first attempt.
No more Freebies titles
If Pacquiao wants a second crack in a title, he should defeat these two highest contenders: Shakhram Giyasov and Raul Curiel. Manny already obtained his title title discovered against Barrios. Now, it is time to win a second chance risky -in their hiding as other contenders in the heavy weight division, there are no more freebies.
“The fans are happy with my performance. Don’t worry. Pacquiao is back. I’m still here. I did my best and really thought I won the fight,” said Manny.
No matter that Pacquiao thought he won. The fact is that the judges did not believe it won, and they were the ones who did the score. You just have to live with him.
“I am very grateful that I did not miss the fight. I had a draw. It’s okay, but most fans thought I won the struggle,” said Pacquiao.
