“I suppose the defense may say that the mother may have an incentive not to reveal her children, that she is fighting a suicidal idea because she does not want to excite them, as well as, it is a very private, sensitive thing,” he said. “So, if the jury sees it that way, it may be a little more softened.
“But I think it is generally a problem for protection.”
