Slovenian lawmakers It became the first country in Eastern Europe to legalize the law on Friday to allow suicide for adults in medical assistance, in a shift in regional policy of the end of life.
The country’s legislators adopted the bill after a close viewing of the parliamentary vote of 50 votes in favor, 34 against and three abstained. Voting was also focused on a national referendum that requires enlarged rights.
Legislation comes after an advisory referendum last year, in which 55% of voters supported the right to the right Autonomy of the end of life. Although the move is highly rated as historical, the implementation of the law will not be immediate, since the procedures and mechanisms of supervision are still being developed.
The law extends to the deadly patients of adults who experience unbearable suffering without the possibility of improvement. Washington, Colombia District, also allows for a suicide with a doctor.
