Shakur Stevenson: 10 -pound rehydration clause for Conor Benn Fight at 147

Shakur Stevenson says he would like a 10 -pound rehydration clause if fighting Conor Benn in 147. He would still like some kind of weight handicap to make the just struggle.

Benn (23-1, 14 kos) could be Stevenson’s best option for a great payment day if Gervonta Davis is not available to fight. Tank still has a resale with Lamont Roach that needs to be taken care of first.

10 lb rehydration clause

“I’m going to fight him,” Shakur said about Conor Benn. “It’s not that big. I would like the same hydration clause that Chris Eubank put this. Cigar talk.

Turki Alshikh mentioned wanting to first try to establish a struggle with Gervonta Davis. If you can’t do it, you will look for other options. Benn and Shakur share the same promoter in Eddie Hearn. He would rather make Stevenson a lower struggle, but still risky against the tastes of Abdullah Mason, Floyd Schofield and Andy Cruz.

Fighting Benn in the United Kingdom

“I will do it there (United Kingdom). I will arrive up to 147. It’s not so big and the skills pay the bills. If you are swinging 100 times and I’m landing my shots, it will be an easy struggle,” Stevenson said about being willing to fight Benn in the United Kingdom.

Fighting Benn in the United Kingdom would be risky, but for a different reason. It’s not that the judges stole Stevenson. It is the motivation and additional energy that they should fight in the face of a multitude of support. This can be enough for Conor to overcome the skills and experience that Stevenson has.

No Haney/Boots at 147

“I would fight in Haney but not at 147. I am not going to fight the boots at 147. What do you think I am?” Stevenson said.

Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis no longer fights in 147. Therefore, he is not even worthy of discussion. Shakur knows that this guy has too many talent to fight in any style. He could run around the ring as he did against Edwin de los Santos, and his boots could catch him. It may not take that long. Shakur admits he chose Conor Benn because he is a newbie.

“He (Benn) does it (punctures loudly), but he is a newbie. He doesn’t know enough,” Shakur said about his belief that Conor does not have the experience to overcome him.

Shakur would not be able to fight the ropes against Conor Benn as he did against Zepeda. It is a very different type of punch and would hurt it if it had it trapped. Stevenson is not crazy enough to try to fight like that. He will have seen enough of the past fights of conor to know that his power is too much for him to be stationary.
