The fire, which broke through the mall in the Iraqi city of Kut, left dozens of dead and wounded, state media reported.
Flames in the mall, which reportedly opened five days ago, broke out on Wednesday night and has been under control since then.
“The number of casualties reached about 50 people,” said Vasit Mohammed al-Mohai, Governor of the Iraqi news agency Ina.
He said that most victims in the fire were women and children, adding that court laws would be initiated against the owner of the mall.
The video shows in the news channel in Ina that shows the flames that break through a few floors of the multi-storey building when the firefighters try to throw them.
Other clips that circulate in the social media show a small number of people on the roof during the fire, as well as the burned gut in the center.
Al-Myakhi told local media that the firefighters had been rescued from the building.
