The Indian team came back Australia after a long and tiring series. The team will now take on England in the ODI and T20I series at home before the Champions Trophy 2025. Amid mixed emotions over the current form of the Indian team, footage of Reddy’s welcome at the airport in his hometown Hyderabad has managed to lift the nation’s spirits ahead of the prestigious ICC tournament. Reddy became a hero after saving the team in the Boxing Day Test after the entire Indian batting order fell under the Australian onslaught like a pack of cards. The Australians in their first innings made a mammoth 474 runs. In response, the Indian batting order completely crumbled amid consistent dismissals. It was during these desperate times that Reddy along with Washington Sundar penned a remarkable 127-run partnership to save the Indian innings from the humiliation of a follow-on. Reddy, with an epic innings of 114 runs, helped India put 369 runs on the board from 221/7 at the same time and brought the Indian total close to Australia’s first innings score. Reddy was the fourth highest run scorer in the series with 298 runs in 9 innings to his name.
