Two women shot dead at Kentucky church

Two people were deadly shot dead in a Kentucky church from a militant who had just shot dead a police officer, officials said.

Two women aged 72 and 32 were killed in a Sunday attack in the Baptist Church of Richmond in Lexington, and two parishioners were injured, police said.

Investigators believe that a suspect shot by police had a connection with people in the church.

State Police said the wounded landing was obtained medical treatment. Governor Kentucky Andy Besher expressed condolences in social media and said that “violence, as this, does not have a place in our Commonwealth or the country.”

The initial shooting occurred at 11:36 local time (15:36 GMT) on a terminal disk near Blue Grass Airport, a regional center in Fiet County when the suspect was shot by a state troop.

Lexington police said the troop was “in a stable condition receiving medical treatment.”
