Turki: Sheeraz “deserves” Canelo in 2026

Turki Alralikh says that Hamzah Sheeraz (22-0-1, 18 kos) “deserves” to fight Canelo Alvarez in 2026 after his fifth round of Edgar Berlanga in a WBC title Super Middleweight title on Saturday night in Queens, New York.

Sheeraz: Canelo fights in 2026

Turki did not say when in 2026 Sheeraz will fight against the indisputable champion of 168 pounds Canelo. He also did not mention if he should be victorious in his September 13 fight against Terence Crawford.

It would not make sense to make a fight between Canera and Sheeraz if it is without belt and a loss occurred in Crawford. Canelo has lost many of his physical tools in the last four rounds, and he is not given enough to beat Terence.

Sheeraz is a decent choice for Canelo if he does not want to give the fans the struggle of David Benavidez. Between Hamzah and Chris winner Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn, Hamzah is the best option.

We saw the ease that Sheeraz had Berlanga on Saturday, leaving him three times in a fifth round. Canelo was forced to travel the 12 rounds to beat Edgar last September. In the final round, Berlanga often landed in Canelo. He does not say much about Canelo because Sheeraz has sent Berlanga so easily.

Sheeraz did not proved: Canelo doubts?

Many US boxing fans would prefer to see that Turki agrees with Christian Mbilli or David Benavidez against Canelo instead of Sheeraz, who is considered to be not shown. It is great that Hamzah beat Berlanga, but he never beat anyone good enough to be considered a talented medium weight.

A better struggle for Sheeraz to try -it would be equal against Mbilli, and the winner of this struggle can face Canelo. It would be won for Sheeraz as long as he can catch him with quick combinations as he did against Berlanga.
