Subriel Matias crushes a major decision of most about Alberto Puello in a controversial championship confrontation, configuring Dalton Smith Showdown!
Subriel Matias (23-2, 22 kos) looked like a machine on Saturday night, attacking with constant pressure to crush a victory of most 12 round on the WBC Light Welterweight champion, Alberto Puello (24-1, 10 kos) at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
It was a struggle that I could have gone to the manner of Puello, but the judges liked the pressure that Matias was applying throughout the fight. It was he who showed that he had more ambition to work three full minutes in each round. Instead, Puello kept excessively and should have deducted points.
Puello was effective soon, disembarked and away from Matias. However, in the fourth round, the pressure of Subriel began to get tired of Puello, which slowed down and became more stationary.
Unable to coincide with Matias’ work rate, Puello resorted to constant participation, which he used in Rounds 4 to 12 as the main line of defense. It was ugly to see it, and the fans next to the slope ruined Puello every time he remained.
In the end, the judges preferred the work of Matias and the pressure he applied to Puello. The scores were 114-114, 115-113 and 115-113 for Matias.
After the fight, Turki Alralikh entered the ring and announced that Matias will defend his WBC title against Dalton Smith next November in Riyad.
