He added that a previous trip to Arizona was extremely beneficial to his mental health and sobriety.
“I am a huge advocate for the mental health community, and I wanted to go to dig a little deeper into my own existence and reach the root of why I did the things I hurt myself and those I loved,” he added.
McLean added that he was able to work on his low self-esteem issues as well as separating his identity and self-value from being based solely on his contacts with his boys band.
“I’ve discovered a new Verbiage, as borders, never had those really. Now I have those, which is a blessing. AJ is a member of a group. It’s a persona, but it doesn’t define me as an individual. Alexander James is who I am,” he continued.
