The couple were forced to reschedule their marriage last year after Johnny, 31, and Matthew, 29 hit and killed by an alleged drunken driver While riding their bikes at Oldmans Township, New Jersey, on August 29, the eve of the original ceremony.
Johnny, a former -star for Columbus Blue Jackets and Calgary Flames of the NHL, and Matthew, who played a college hockey with his brother at Boston College, will still have their presence feeling on Katie’s big day.
In September 2024, Katie revealed that she had engraved “J+M” in her silver wedding band, which she showed unique engagement photos shared with Weekly US in June.
In the run up before walking down the aisle, Katie said she had been “feeling every emotion imaginable” while working with her team to plan the marriage.
“Sadness, fatigue, nervousness, guilt, stress, love, and happiness,” she divided by Instagram in May. “For months they’ve been working so hard behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly and my family and I don’t have to worry about any of the big decisions.”
Katie added, “I’m so incredibly lucky to have you all in my corner and help me through this process. I can’t wait for you all to see the amazing job they have done to help make this day special.”
In March, Katie and Devin celebrated their ninth -dating birthday, which Katie honored with a melancholic position Through social media.
“I couldn’t be more grateful to have you by my side,” he wrote. “This past year has experienced us in ways that we could never have imagined, but our love has always come out stronger. You have shown in ways that mean more than I can put in words, and I know I would not have gone through without you.”
Katie continued, “Since the high school I’ve been waiting for the day I’m calling you a husband … even though I’m calling you a husband now, I can’t wait for July 11th to be official to be your wife. No matter what life throws our way, I’ll always be ready for all-key singing and dancing terrible with you-whether it’s in a bar or our small kitchen.”
