The Trump administration imposes sanctions on the special UN Human Rights Council Francesco Albanese, an open criticism of Israel’s military offensive in Gaza.
Secretary of State Mark Rubio linked the step to her support of the International Criminal Court (ICC), some of which were already sanctioned by the US.
Rubio said the United States is authorized by Mrs. Albonez for direct interaction with the ICC in the efforts to persecute US or Israeli citizens, accusing her of unusable as a UN Special Rapporteur.
Sanctions are likely to prevent Ms Albanese drive to the US and block any assets it has in the country.
This is the latest escalation of the Trump administration because it earns a campaign against the ICC, already authorizing four judges after the court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his defense minister Joava Galanta for alleged war crimes.
Mr. Rubio also accused Ms Albanese of “throwing intolerance anti -Semitism, expressed support for terrorism and open contempt for the US, Israel and the West.”
This step is probably causing a rigid reaction from those who argue about accounting at the expense of the civil death from the military offensive of Israel to Gaza.
A special rapporteur has long claimed that the Western governments do not do enough to support the rights of the Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories, and with its open position has attracted considerable support among those who accuse the US and leaders of the US arms charges in anti -Semitism to dorm a criticism.
Rubio also stated that Ms Albonez had a contempt for the United States, writing “threatening letters” by several American companies, doing what he called unjustified charges and recommended that the ICC haunted companies and their executives.
“We will not put up with these political and economic war campaigns that threaten our national interests and sovereignty,” Rubio said.
Earlier this month, Ms Albonez called on dozens of multinational companies To stop running a business with Israel, warning that they risk involved in war crimes in Gaza and the occupied Western shore.
She said that the companies “made a profit from the Israeli economy of illegal occupation, apartheid, and now genocide” in the occupied Palestinian territories. Israel rejected her report as “unreasonable”, saying that he would “join the garbage of history.”
Ms Albanez criticized the plan of Donald Trump, announced in February to take over the gas lane and displace its residents elsewhere.
“This is illegal, immoral and … quite irresponsible because it will worsen the regional crisis,” she said in February.
The terms of announcement of sanctions are characteristic of Netanyahu now in Washington, where he received a long pride in the Pentagon on Wednesday.
Earlier, Ms Albanese abandoned similar claims to her, telling the BBC in October: “I do not accept these remarks and slander they carry easily, but at the same time I know that it was not about me because my predecessors knew that it was not about them.
“I also know that these countries are member (accusations of anti -Semitism) have done absolutely nothing to comply with international law.”
For her office, they addressed for comments.
The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the attack under the guidance of Hamas on South Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and took 251 people hostage.
At least 57 575 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Ministry of Health in the field of health in the territory.
Most of the gas population has also been moved several times. It is estimated that more than 90% of the houses were damaged or destroyed; Health care systems, water, sanitation and hygiene have fallen apart; And there is a lack of food, fuel, medicine and shelter.
