Michael Douglas It could be done with acting after nearly 60 years in Hollywood.
The winner of Oscar, 80, said he has “no real intentions” of staring in another project – unless, of course, a script is coming forward that really appeals to it.
“I haven’t worked since 2022 purposefully because I realized I had to stop,” Douglas said at a press conference on Sunday, July 6, during the Vary Karlovy International Film Festival in the Czech Republic, per Diversity.
“I had been working pretty hard for nearly 60 years, and I didn’t want to be one of those people who dropped dead on the set. I have no real intentions to go back. I say I’m not retired because if something special came up, I’d go back, but otherwise, no,” he added.

Douglas noted that “one independent little film” was “trying to get a good script out of it.” However, “in the spirit of holding a good marriage,” he is “happy to play the woman” to the Chicago star going forward.
