Methane gas kills 12 Turkish soldiers in the operation in Iraq

Twelve Turkish soldiers were killed after the exposure of methane gas while searching for a cave in Iraq, Turkish National Defense Ministry said.

At least 19 employees were exposed to gas during the search and clear work on Sunday and immediately taken to the hospital.

Monday killed 12 soldiers, the ministry said.

The troops were looking for a soldier’s body who died in the shooting in May 2022. The ministry said that despite the efforts, the remains were still not restored.
