If I was a member Press -corps of the White House, It was easy to notice that journalists thought they could not say “the key to loyalty” with other Americans in the White House. This somehow compromised their neutrality. This inaction suggested that American journalists should not express their gratitude for their country that enshrines the freedom of the press. This is a lack of gratitude rather than just absence Patriotism.
For the media, the feeling that they did not take root for America was first emphasized in their opposition before the Vietnam war. America is a free country and journalists can humiliate it. Journalists can say that their valuable profession puts them above the flexible promise of loyalty. But they should not be mysterious when the Americans decide that they do not trust the networks that sound suspicious to national unity that can bring patriotism.
