Liverpool striker, Diogo Jota, has been killed in a car accident in Spain.
The Portugal International, 28, was in a Lamborghini who left the road in the northwestern province of Zamora at night.
He traveled with his brother Andre Silva, a 25 -year -old spokesman who was also killed.
Zamora News reported that the emergency services were called at 1240 hours, after being alert to an accident on the motorway towards Benavente.
The fire service extinguished the fire, but the medical crew could not save the two occupants of the car.
A statement from the Civil Guard, given to the BBC, read: “The information we have so far is that the car, which was a Lamborghini, was in a traffic accident and left the road due to a tire stroke while overcoming.
“It was in the first hours, 1230, in the municipality of Cernadilla in the province of Zamora.
“The car burned down -and the two occupants were killed.”

A statement by Liverpool said: “Liverpool Football Club is devastated by the tragic step of Diogo Jota.
“The club has been informed that the 28 -year -old has died after a traffic accident in Spain along with his brother, Andre.
“Liverpool FC will not comment at the moment and request the privacy of the family, friends, teammates and staff of the Diogo Club, as they try to reach an agreement with unimaginable loss.
“We will continue to provide them with our full support.
Jota married the long -term partner Rute Cardoso two weeks ago. They have three children.
In a joint publication on Instagram after the ceremony, they wrote: “On June 22, 2025. Yes, in Forever.”
Liverpool signed Jota de Wolves in 2020 and immediately became a key member of the squad, helping Merseysiders in the Cup title in 2022. They also finished runners -up in the EFL Cup and the Champions League.
After the departure of Jurgen Klopp and the arrival of Arne Slot as manager, Liverpool won the title of the Premier League last season with Jota by providing nine goals in 37 appearances.
Jota began in Pacos de Ferreira, where his shape earned him a transfer to Atlético de Madrid. He struggled to make an impression in the Spanish capital and was loaned to Porto in his hometown, and then to Wolves in 2017.
His transfer to Molineux was permanent in January 2018, halfway through a season in which he scored 17 league goals to help wolves promote the promotion to the Premier League.
International, Jota scored 14 goals in 49 appearances, assisting them in the League of Nations in 2019 and again last month. Jota left the bench as a replacement for the extension, as Portugal defeated Spain for penalties in the final.
