The United Nations expert called on dozens of multinational companies to stop running a business with Israel, warning that they run the risk of war crimes in Gaza and occupied by the western shore.
Francesco Albonez, having submitted its report on the UN Human Rights Council, said that it called the “genocide economy”, in which the conflict with Hamas presented a test playground – without accounting and supervision of new weapons and technology.
Israel rejected her report as “unreasonable”, saying that he would “join the garbage of history.”
UN experts, or special speakers, are independent of the UN, but they are intended for counseling on human rights.
Ms Albanez is an international lawyer from Italy, and she is known for her stupidity; In previous reports, she suggested that Israel was making genocide in Gaza.
On Thursday, she repeated this demand, accusing Israel of “committing one of the most violent genocides in modern history.”
In this report, the company MS Albanese Companies, which, according to her, make a profit, which means that the war crimes in Gaza.
Its list includes weapons manufacturer Lockheed Martin for weapons sale, as well as technology firms Alphabet, IBM, Microsoft and Amazon to provide technology that allow Israel to track and navigate Palestinians.
It also lists Caterpillar, Hyundai and Volvo, in which its report claims that vehicles used to wear homes and smoothing the bombing.
Financial institutions are also included – Mrs. Albonez claims that BNP Paribas and Barclays are stained with Israeli Treasury bonds throughout the conflict.
BBC turned to the companies mentioned above for comment.
Lockhid Martin said foreign military sales were the government and government operations, and the discussions were most considered by the US government.
Volvo said he did not share Ms Albanese’s criticism, which she believes was based on “insufficient and partly incorrect information”. It adds that he seeks to respect human rights and is constantly working to strengthen the proper check. But it states that since its products have a long life and often changes your hands, “unfortunately there is a restriction on what control and influence we can have on how and where our products are used throughout.”
For the companies named, the business is profitable, the message said and helps Israel continue the war. Ms Albanese says that all companies should stop dealing with Israel immediately.
But how likely is it? UN reports, like this, has no legal force, but they attract attention.
Ms Albanez, focusing on economic ties, tries to remind multinational companies and governments about what happened to the apartheid of South Africa.
For a while, many businesses made good money in South Africa, but the apartheid’s injustice attracted global condemnation and UN sanctions, which forced the misinvestment and eventually helped stop the apartheid regime.
Listing companies that are home names, Mrs. Albonez, probably also hoping to give millions of consumers around the world the information they can use by choosing whether to buy anything from South Africa.
But the assumption that they comply with the possible genocide is that the multinational companies themselves can take the most serious. The genocide law is strict, it should be determined by the court, and in fact the International Court is currently considering the case against Israel on the same issue caused by South Africa.
Sauro is defined as a person or a legal entity involved in actions, the predictable results of which may have contributed to the genocide, but without personally intended for the performing genocide.
This accusation is that Ms Albanes believes that it can be leveled against the enterprises that sell everything that can contribute to the military efforts of Israel. It is known that international lawyers privately advised the European government, which continues the sale of weapons to Israel, may lead to accusation of complicity.
Israel, who has long accused Mrs. Albanez of being very hostile and even anti -Semite, rejected her last report as “unreasonable, defamatory and flagrant abuse of the office.”
Israel denies genocide by claiming the right of self -defense against Hamas.
But when Mrs. Albonez presented her reports to the UN member states, she received first and foremost praise and support.
The African, Asian and Arab states supported her calling for the misinvestment, many agreed that the genocide had occurred, and some also warned Israel from cheerful international lawyers, such as Ms Albanese for their work.
The European states, traditionally more supporting Israel, also condemned the refusal to assist gas, and stated that Israel is legal responsibility because the occupation power to ensure that the Palestinians had the funds survive.
But the largest ally of Israel, the United States, left the UN Human Rights Council when President Donald Trump took office in January. Washington’s response was simply accused by Ms Albanese, whose team has contacted US companies for information about their communication with Israel, in the “unacceptable campaign of political and economic war against the US and world economy.”
It is unlikely that the US administration will pay much more attention to the words of one international lawyer. But the great US companies, named in her report by listening to condemnation from many countries where they have financial interests may start questioning their ties with Israel.
