Ugandan military helicopter goes to Adene Osena’s emergency airport in Mogadishu, the official says

The Ugandan military helicopter of eight people on board crashed at the main international airport of the Somalia Capital, Mogadishi, said the BBC aviation official.

The state news agency reported that after the emergency airport ADEN Adde, the fire started, but it was quickly kept by ambulance services. The video showed that smoke was raised from the airport.

“We heard the blast and saw the smoke and flames over the helicopter. The smoke completely covered the helicopter,” said one of the employees of Farah Abdulle.

The cause of the accident and the numbers of the loss is unclear.

Ahmed Maalim, the head of the Somali Civil Aviation body, told the BBC that the helicopter had descended into the military section of the airport after flying from the Balidgle airbase in the Lower Shabel region.

He said an investigation was underway to establish the cause of the accident.

Ugandan troops are part of the African Union (AU), helping the government to fight al-Qaeda associated with al-Shabab, which in Somalia carried out a brutal uprising.
