About 76 Gonans, who were allotted to Nigeria according to the set scheme, were rescued to the Ganski police.
The victims, mostly young people, were blamed on the promises of football contracts with leading foreign teams, employment abroad or help processing.
Upon arrival, their documents and mobile phones were confiscated, and they were located in crowded rooms in bad conditions, police notes.
The victims were forced to contact their families to demand about $ 1,000 ($ 727) under the guise of tuition fees or assistance. The inspirers of fraud were also allegedly using the contact contacts of the victims to deceive their friends and relatives.
Seven suspects were arrested in connection with human trafficking.
The head of the criminal investigation department of Ghana (CID) Lydia Yakho Doncar stated that on the pressbird that the rescue operation was carried out in cooperation with Interpols and Nigerian law enforcement agencies.
The victims were rescued from different Nigeria States between May 19 and June 27 this year, and they should still be repatched to reunite with their families in Ghana.

Later, they are transferred to “Camp holding” – rented numbers, where about 40 people are forced to live in substandard conditions. Under pressure, they force others, deceiving even their own families and friends, said Ms Donkor.
“Psychological and economic damage caused by these victims and their families, devastating,” she said, adding that in many cases the victims are “so malnutrous and psychologically affected” that they cannot restore their normal life.
QNET, a global lifestyle and wellness marketing campaign, allegedly related to the scam on the recruitment, was forbidden to work in Ghana since 2022 for allegedly driving the pink scheme.
The company has repeatedly denied participation in fraud.
Cases of people who have been lured with false promises and joining the Internet fraud scheme is not uncommon for Ghana and Nigeria.
Police notice that efforts are ongoing to arrest all those behind the scam.
