India’s assistant coach Ryan Tendeeschate has left a suggestion in changes in game XI for the next second test against England in Birmingham. Ten Doschate revealed that Nitish Kumar Reddy is very “very close” to turn it into the XI game, and added that Washington Sundar is also in containment.
Following the loss of India in the opening test, there have been speculations on Jasprit Bumrah rested for the next game, from Edgbaston on Wednesday, July 2.
Nitish Kumar Reddy was near the sliding cord with Karun Nair, Kl Rahul and Shubman Gill, while Sai Sudharsan took Gully during the clean session. Reddy also had a long battle session and launched towards the end of the networks. However, Shardul Thakur did not go to the main baptismers of the practice.

Thakur had a bewildering performance in the first test in Leeds, which could cost him his place. He left without bites at the first entrances, granting 38 runs on six surfaces and returned 2/51 to the second. With the bat, he got only five runs at both entrances.
Reddy, meanwhile, scored 298 runs at an average of 37.25 and took five doctors at nine entries. The young man made his debut against Australia during the border-gavaskar trophy (BGT) 2024-25.
At a press conference, Ryan Ten Doeschen greeted Nitish Kumar Reddy as “Premium Batting All-Rounder”. He revealed that the team opted for a bowl of bowling in the first Indian test, but admitted that management was exploring options to join a whole level.
“Nitish is very close to getting a game. Obviously, he was fantastic in Australia. He went into the team and playing as he did. We just heard ourselves in balance during the last game, we wanted to go with the bowling everything, which we thought Shardul was slightly ahead of the bowl front,” said Deu Doschate.
“We are looking for ways to bounce the puzzle so that we can get a smoothie everything.
Ryan Ten Doeschata said that India is likely to go with two spinners for the second test, but the final decision will depend on the side balance. He stated that the three spinners in the squad are fine, with Washington Sundar with a slight advantage due to their battle contributions.
“There is a great chance of playing two spinners. This is what we play two. The three spinners are very good bowls, while Washy is beating very well. So it’s just what a combination. We go with a spinner of everything he is or a spinner?
“So there are so many different variables. The wick has 11 mm of grass on the pitch right now, but it is quite dry below, but there is also rainfall for Wednesday. So again, we are trying to weigh the two attacking options. But I’m sure two spinners will play in this test game,” he added.
