Shakur Stevenson says he is “the program” for the July 12 event in his fight against William Zepeda at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. He claims that he is “what everyone wants to see” for this card.
Shakur (23-0, 11 kos) is in the game, defending his light title of the WBC against Zepeda (33-0, 27 kos) in which many fans see as one that could involve a lot of move and maintenance for Stevenson.
“I think I am the show. I think I am the one who wants to see. The fans have been waiting for me to fight someone with a high level of skill. He is not afraid. He will come in and give -all,” Shakur Stevenson said in Ring Magazine canal On his fight against William Zepeda on July 12.
The reality is that Shakur is one of the fighters less entertained on the July 12 card in Queens, New York. That is why he fights in the subcardity: many boring performances in a row. The exciting fighters of Turki Alralikh card for this event are these talents:
Fighters exciting: Queens card
– Edgar Berlanga
– Hamzah Sheeraz
– David Morrell
– Imam Khataev
– Subriel Matias
– Alberto Puello
There are many punches on this card and includes William Zepeda. These are the mandatory fighters of July 12. Hopefully, Shakur takes into account what Turki Alralikh said about not wanting a “Tom and Jerry” struggle.
“This will only create more opportunities for belt to a **. It can be (a eliminated one). But I tell you, don’t surprise you. You can’t fight a boy like this one who moves for all the time. You will end up losing,” Shakur told Zepeda.
Stevenson says things that does not have the offensive skills to back up. Has no power or the output of the punch “Belt to a ** Against Zepeda. If anyone is going to bring a belt to the back in this struggle, it is Zepeda, as his talent on the offensive side of the party is light years ahead of Shakur.
The only thing Shakur does well is to move and defend. Its game is 10 to 90 in terms of offense and defense. It is the classic definition of a unidimensional fighter and that is why he lost to the 2016 Olympic Games. Stevenson has not fought anyone since he became a professional. He has captured three World Division titles by beating these fighters:
They are not great fighters that Shakur surpassed to become a world champion of three divisions. It is another example of the ease for fighters to win titles today at this time when they have smart promoters who strategically coincide.
Stevenson Booed: Fanatics reaction
See what happened to Shakur’s struggle against the last opponent, Edwin de los Santos, in 2023. Stevenson ran throughout the ring for 12 rounds, and the judges made a unanimous decision. It was a questionable decision, but Shakur showed that he can win by moving -without stopping.
Interestingly, he has only faced scrap since then, which suggests that his promoters did not want to repeat himself to let himself out of an enclosure, as he was in the struggle of Los Santos. I have never heard a fighter from the fourth round until they left the ring. The T-Mobile Arena crowd even put Shakur as he headed to the locker room after the fight.
