He added at the time, “People already call me ‘Rob Mac’ or ‘Mac,’ obviously from the TV show. It makes things so much easier.”
His wife of 17 years, Kaitlin OlsonHe shares the sons of Axel Lee, 14, and Leo Gray, 13, still getting used to the idea “Mac”, saying Diversity In the same interview, “the children are not happy about it, because they have that last name. And so too I am legally!”
Apparently some fans have noticed that all recent FX press releases for both Always sunny and Heat has already begun to credited the actor as “Rob Mac.”
Mac’s name has been the joke barrel for some time now, with his friend and co -owner AFC Ryan Reynolds Release a music video Fun Proced in Mcelhenney’s pronunciation in 2023 on his -birthday.
“Despite the honors, despite the load of fame / one thing they don’t know is how to say his name,” Reynolds, 48, chronicled Mac admirers. (Basically sang, just say, “Mackle-Henney.”)
“I dive deep into my dynasty, so I was always very proud of the name, which is why I didn’t change it in the beginning, when everyone was begging me to do that,” Mac told Diversity. “When you first start out, they are like, ‘Let’s just get a stage name.’”
Soon, Mac realized that a stage name would probably have helped his case much sooner. To be honest, even his brothers and sisters are jealous of the last name change.
“My brother said, ‘I was actually considering running for a government in Culver City, and I was going to be a’ Pat Mac, ‘” explains Rob, adding that his sister Katie, who has written for him Always sunny and Mythic quest Also told him that “literally everyone in the world calls me in Katie Mac. ‘”
“It turns out, as I did my genealogy and I got back, my last name has been changed so many times. As late as the ’60s, there was a lack of the Mcelhenneys that changed our name. And so it’s not that everyone was so valuable about it before 1965,” he said to 1965 Diversity.
Rob is now better known for his business enthusiastically than on -screen work. It has increased its more better recent investments, including a pair of football teams in Colombia and Mexico, and poles in clothing, technology and alcohol companies.
