Chris Eubank Jr. And Conor Benn will meet at Middleweight for a resale on September 20 in London. The fight will be held at 160 with a rehydration clause of 10 LB to give Benn (23-1, 14 kos) to Handicap.
Turki Alshikh announced the resuscitation of Ebank Jr. vs Benn 2 Today, and surprisingly, the reaction has been overwhelmingly negative. The general feeling is that Eubank Jr. (35-3, 25 kos) already won Benn convincingly by a unanimous 12 round decision last April. A resale is only seen as a completely pathetic money seizure.
There are no Ebank-Benn stakes
People believe that resale is not necessary because there would be nothing at stake. Eubank Jr-Benn has already struggled for nostalgic purposes, playing the theme of their famous parents who have fought ages. Having a sequel is nonsense without both fighting against other boxers.
It makes no sense in a resale because it was a clear decision of the scores 116-112, 116-112 and 116-112. It would have been a better idea for Eubank Jr. and Benn to show ambition and try the world titles. None of the fighters have done nothing in his career and is in his famous realization of his father.
Turki should have insisted that Benn Challenge Wbo Wonterweight, Brian Norman Jr., to see what he is done. We already know that it does not have the skills and the size to beat Eubank JR or any of the good average weights.
Fans do not know why Turki supports Benn and Eubank Jr. financing their resale. What Turki should have done is to list several fighters that both have to beat before they paid millions for a resale.
35 -year -old Ebank Jr. is obviously not good enough to fight the highest average weights, and he knows better than trying to fight for a world title against the champions Janibek Alimkhanuly, Erislandy Lara or Carlos Adames. Therefore, the best thing he can do is fight Conor Benn, which is a joke.
