Virender Sehwag (2008-2012)

Former Indian Captain Virender Sehwag captured Delhi’s capitals in the IPL’s inaugural season, and the team did everything well in the first four places and qualify for the semifinal.

Sehwag led the team for two consecutive seasons and was filled several times as a foot captain until 2012.

Sehwag led DC in 52 games and won more than 50% of them, which results in 28 wins and 24 losses.

Gautam Gambhir (2009-2018)

Gautam Gambhir was part of the Delhi Capitals for the first three seasons before being released by the team.

Gambhir returned as captain of the team in 2018, which was also the last season of Gambhir.

The left side led DC in 25 games and won 12 games, while there was 13 occasions that DC was next to the loss with Gambhir at the helm.

Dinesh Karthik (2010-2014)

The old nucleus of the Indiana lineage, Dinesh Kartik, has been a traveler in terms of the IPL. He was part of DC for a few seasons and also captured the side in a few games in 2010 and 2014.

Karthik played as a team captain in six games and was able to record a couple of wins.

James Hopes (2011)

Former All-Rounder James Hopes, who played the Delhi Capitals in the 2011 League season, also captured the team in three games this season and failed to record a single victory in two of the completed games.

Mahela Jayawarde (2012-2013)

Mahela Jayawardene was designated as Captain of the Delhi Capitals for a couple of seasons and led the team in a total of 18 games, winning -six and losing 11 of them.

Ross Taylor (2012)

Ros Taylor also led DC in a couple of games in 2012, but was not successful in registering a victory in one of the games completed.

David Warner (2013-2023)

DC was the first team that Warner was part of before going to Srh. Warmer led the capitals in 16 games and won 31% of games.

Kevin Pietersen (2014)

Kevin Pieterson was appointed Captain of the Side for the 2014 League edition, but led the team in only 11 games before going down as the captain of the side.

JP Duminy (2015-2016)

The former South African Ronda JP Duminy was delivered by Captaincy for the 2015 edition and was not successful. Duminy also led the team in a couple of games in 2016.

Zaheer Khan (2016-2017)

The Pacer Indian Zaheer Khan captured the capitals in the 2016 and 2017 seasons and did a decent work in his first year as the captain of the side, as DC almost reached the playoffs that year.

However, things did not go as planned next season, as DC finished sixth at the point table with six wins and eight losses.

Karun Nair (2017)

Karu Nair also led DC in three games in the 2017 season and won -a couple before being released by the team.

Shreyas Iyer (2018-2020)

Shreyas Iyer received the captaincy in the middle of the 2018 season and became one of the most successful Captains of DC with 21 wins in 41 games, and also guided the team in the final of 2020.

RISABH Pant (2021-2024)

Rishab Pant, who was captain of the team in the absence of regular captain Shreyas Iyer, was injured during the first half of the season, guided the team to the playoffs.

This was the third consecutive appearance of Delhi Capital Playoff in the League, which promoted the direction to appoint Rishabh as full -time Captain of DC.

That said, in 2021 it was the only year in which Ris Habh was able to make a difference as captain, as the next two seasons he played as captain of the capital were forgotten.

Axar Patel (2024-2025)

Axar, who was appointed Rishabh Pant Member of the 2024 season, was promoted the following year to lead the team, and Axar started well winning four games in the jog.

But he struggled to remain coherent, as Delhi Capitals lost his way in the middle of the HE Tournament and failed to reach the playoffs.

FAF DU PLESSIS (2025)

FAF du Pessis led the team on the tournament’s Backend by 2025, when the team had a desperate need for a victory, but could not do the job.
