According to Cricbuzz, the Gujarat Cricket Association plans to introduce its own T20 League in the 2025-26 season. GCA secretary, Anil Patel, confirmed that the decision was made, but details such as the tournament window, the format and the number of participating teams are completed.

State associations such as Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Saurashtra have organized leagues to show local talent.

Many of these competitions are scheduled to take place on June and July, after the conclusion of the IPL season in May, giving young Cricters a timely opportunity to attract the attention of top -notch teams.

State league owners struggle to recover investments

Leagues T20 at the state level have become a valuable Scouting land for the IPL franchises. However, most of the franchise owners involved in state leagues struggle to regain their investments, and this financial tension raises concerns about poor behavior, including bets and fixing parties.

To address these risks, the BCCI has introduced guidelines for state associations. Each league is assigned an anti -corruption officer and strict security protocols for players and official areas are required in the games.

State leagues have limited gain potential. Without a sustainable financial model, these leagues collapse. Franchise owners invest in listening and promoting local players, hoping to develop future stars, but they receive little or no financial return for their efforts.
