The legend of tennis Serena Williams shared the most important value of her parents, which contributed to her success in both the Tennis Pro and as an entrepreneur.
Y en Interview with CNBC meets “Tania Bryer”Williams said that one of the values she received in her career is to remain modest.
“I think the main value they have instilled me is just humility, and I think it goes much better than any championship or anything because it keeps you as an individual,” Williams said.
“It makes you respects, and it keeps you like everything, because in the end we’re all the same, so? It’s just (what) some of us may be a little better, but we are all the same,” she added.
Williams won the 23 titles of the Singles “Big Slam”, which made it one of the most decorated tennis players in history. After retreating from this sport in 2022, she entered the entrepreneurship to focus on her Venture Ventures Ventures Ventures.
Asked about her influence on her tennis and whether she improved the sport, Williams confessed: “I would never say it. I had just an opportunity to play a great sport and I did my best and better me? I don’t know.
Currently, Williams assumes a new role of an entrepreneur at the Conglomerate Reckitt consumer residence, which has submitted a new program called “Reckitt Catalyst” last week, aimed at investing and supporting 200 startup health and hygiene founded by women. Williams plays a key role in the teaching of these founders and entrepreneurs.
“You must be very disciplined”
The 43-year-old mother of two said that the discipline is the number one thing she took from her tennis career in business, which was crucial for her success.
“Tennis (plays) every day, you have to do it every day. You have to train and the business is the same. It’s really the same. You must be very disciplined,” she said.
“You must also be determined through ups and falls, determined to continue to go. And this is one thing I am glad to do is talk to these teachers that I have shown so much in my last career and just turn her into this new career.”
Williams added that some of its success and skill are part of its nature, but the other part had to be educated.
“I think a lot is nature, but a lot can be brought up, and I know that from the experience that much can be brought up. I look forward to their upbringing (the founders) and gives them to the place to be very successful in what they determine success because success is determined in different ways,” she said.
