US President Donald Trump has called for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is judging allegedly corruption or at all rejected the case.
In a report on the social media, Trump also claimed that the United States had rescued Israel – hinting at interference with Israel with Iran – and now also “kept” Netanyahu.
Israeli Prime Minister denies bribery accusations, fraud and confidence violation, for which he has been judging since 2020.
Israeli’s chief opposition leader Jair Lapid criticized Trump’s statement, saying that he should not “intervene in the legal process of an independent state.”
Trump’s message comes a few days after he reproached Israel for attacking Iran after he announced the ceasefire.
Netanyahu has repeatedly praised Trump’s decision on the bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities on Sunday, calling it a “bold” step.
Having posted his social platform, Trump called his perennial ally as a “great hero who has done so much” for Israel and “warrior.”
He said that the Netanyahu trial should be “canceled immediately”, otherwise he needed to pardon, adding that he learned that Netanyahu should appear in court on Monday. Netanyahu appeared in court several times since the trial began.
Trump described the case against Netanyahu as a “witch hunt” – the term he repeatedly used to describe the investigations in his intended violation in the US.
But Yaire Lapid suggested that an intervention attempt could be part of Trump’s calculated step.
“I hope and assume that this award (Trump) gives (Netanyahu) because he plans to put pressure on his gas and make it hostage to finish the war,” said Yair Lapid Israeli web -saca ynet.
Netanyahu trials are carried out against the backdrop of conflicts that Israel has been engaged since the deadly and unprecedented attack by Hamas, which led to a delay in the trial.
In particular, the duration of the war against Hamas in Gaza led to claim that Netanyahu wanted to extend the fighting for the election delay and his conclusion.
