Guilty of Betting Match, in IPL. The scandal that led to the two -year suspension of the Royals: claims that he was deceived and defrauded of the true value of his actions.
The legal procedures took a dramatic turn after the Badale Legal Team, led by Adam Speker, accused Kundra of trying to blackmail Badale threatening to report serious allegations to the Indian authorities. According to court archives, Kundra sent an unsolicited email to Badale last month, claiming that he had been “Damn and defrauded of the legitimate value of my participation of 11.7%” and claiming that he had already filed a complaint to the Indian authorities. Kundra also threatened to climb the matter to the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI), unless an agreement reached for the restoration of its original or compensation heritage that reflected the current valuation of the franchise.
In the same communication, Kundra suggested that he was open to discussions on financial compensation, but also warned of publishing alleged financial misconduct and irregular transactions that involved a key promoter of Rajasthan Royals. On social media, Kundra suggested imminent revelations on financial malpractice and money laundering through out -of -sea structures, intensifying the public control of the franchise.
The Badale Legal Team responded quickly by ensuring a provisional order against Kundra on May 30, preventing it from breaching the 2019 settlement or making unpleasant statements over Badale or the franchise. In court, Badale’s lawyer characterized Kundra’s threats as a clear attempt at blackmail, designed to coerce a favorable agreement.
Kundra, represented by lawyer William McCormick, has denied any crime and said that he had been informed of certain facts about the plaintiffs. He argues that if these facts are false, “At the time it will be exposed.” Kundra’s legal team has agreed that the order should remain in its place until a full trial, but emphasized that this is not an admission of guilt.
