The Duchess of Sussex has said she is “devastated” after the death of her dog Guy.

In a post on Instagram, Meghan said she had “shed too many tears to count” over the dog’s death and thanked him for “so many years of unconditional love”.

The Duchess said she adopted the beagle from a rescue center in Canada in 2015 and that since then he has been “with me through everything”.

She did not say when the dog died or the cause of death.

The post was accompanied by a montage of photos and videos of the Duchess and her family playing with Guy.

One shows her boiling fruit on the stove to make jam and telling the dog, “We’re cooking, Guy.” In another, her husband, the Duke of Sussex, is seen jogging along the beach with him.

“He was with me in everything: in silence, in chaos, in peace, in comfort.”

“I hope you can understand why I am so devastated by his loss. I think you can fall in love a little too,” she said.

“I’ve cried too many tears to count—the kind of tears that make you step into the shower with the absurd hope that running water on your face will somehow make you feel them or pretend they’re not there. But they And that’s also normal.

“Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You have filled my life in ways you will never know.”
