“It’s impossible to put in these words the last few days. We are together and safe and surrounded by love,” wrote Sarah through Instagram in January, alongside pictures of the damage in the neighborhood. “Thanks to Undle Dave and Aunt Dani who took so many of us in. We lost our home. It was one of the first areas to go.”
He continued, “Our children have said ‘We all took our first steps there.’ It is so difficult to say goodbye to our lovely town, our special school and this place we have loved for 13 years.
Sarah added that the family was “so grateful” to be together and for “deporting love” they have received.
“We have received so many messages from friends offering their homes, food, clothing, embracing, things for the children, support and we have just been blown away, 😭,” he concluded. “This is what still makes us tear up. Thanks it means so much to us. More soon. ❤️.”
