Sam Konstas told CODE Sports: “I loved every second of it, but there are great learnings to be had and to reflect on, and hopefully on future tours I can learn from that.”

He admitted to telling Kohli that he idolized him and in response, the former Indian skipper gave a humble reply. Konstas described Kohli as “down to earth” and mentioned that the Indian star wished him the best of luck for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour.

Sharing more details about his dream meeting with Kohli, Konstas noted: “I spoke to him a little bit after the match telling him that I idolize him and obviously it’s a great honor to play against him. When I told him, I said : “Wow, Virat Kohli is batting”. He just had this presence around him, the whole Indian crowd going into it. It was quite surreal.”

The Aussie gun signed off saying: “He was very down to earth. A lovely person, just wanting the best for me. I’ve idolized him since I was a kid and he’s a legend of the game. He was very kind and wished me everything the best, saying I hope I do well in the Sri Lanka tour if I’m there. My whole family loves Virat.”
