“I’ve had the pleasure of meeting @meghan over food, and let me tell you, she and her well-known significant others are some of the most abusive people I’ve ever met,” Chef Adrian Lipscombe wrote through Instagram on Monday, January 6. “We talked about our families (mostly about our daughters in their princess days and the movies they love) and, of course, about food.”
Markle and Prince Harry share Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. It is unclear whether the royal couple’s children will be featured in the Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming Netflix show called With Love, Meghan.
Recalling her conversations with Markle, Lipscombe remembered Markle as a mother who was kind and thoughtful.
“She didn’t rush the conversation, even though I was taking her time,” he shared. “(Markle) was gracious, engaging and kind.”
Lipscombe felt compelled to speak out after she saw a negative article about Markle’s upcoming TV show based on a small preview.
On January 2, Netflix released the first trailer oh With Love, Meghan. The almost two-minute clip offered a look at Markle’s life in California – including a sweet moment with her husband.
According to Netflix’s official logline, the show “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming” with Markle in the lead “mixing how-to and honest conversation with friends.”

“How are you going to criticize someone or criticize a TV show before it’s even aired?” she said. “And let’s talk about the bigger picture here—where are the shows and roles in the food world led by Black women? Representation is already so rare, and now, a show that has the potential to cover food, culture and storytelling is being torn apart before it even has a chance. This is not just about Meghan Markle. It’s about a systemic issue in media and entertainment that continues to dismiss or belittle efforts by women, especially women of color, to create something meaningful.”
After return to Instagram in the beginning of 2025Probably Markle ignore the critics and instead expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work on a personal project.
“I’ve been so excited to share this with you!” she he wrote via the app on January 3. “I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a great new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the @netflix team. Beyond grateful for the support – and fun!”
With Love, Meghan premieres on Netflix Wednesday, January 15.
