Princess Kate Middleton spoke for the first time since her last minute Absence of the Royal Ascot.
The Princess of Wales, 43, released a movement for children’s hospice week two days after Her lost appearance in the annual horse race.
“No parent expects to hear that their child had a serious health condition that could shorten his life,” read the statement Friday, June 20. “Unfortunately, this is the reality facing thousands of families across the country, leaving them heartbreaking, fearing the future and often isolated. Being able to access the support of one of 54 UK children’s hospices means they do not have to face that future on their own.”
“As a sponsor of East Anglia Children’s Hospices and the Hafan Children’s Hospice in South Wales, I have the tremendous privilege of seeing for myself the remarkable work of our children’s hospices,” the statement continued. “Raising ghosts through laughter, fun and play, as well as listening, holding, caring and sharing, they support children and families through life, death and beyond.”

Children’s Hospice Week is the UK’s annual awareness week for children’s hospices and palliative care services. It runs between June 16 and June 22, with the Royal Ascot celebrations.
“This Children’s Hospice Week, I hope you join me in celebrating the life -changing work they do and thanking them for the vital care they provide to children and families who experience the most challenging times,” Kate’s statement concluded.
Kate was about to attend the Royal Ascot with Prince William On Wednesday, June 18, however, it was revealed at the last minute that it would not appear after all. Her mother, Carole MiddletonShe eventually attended the horse racing event with her daughter-in-law, Alizee Thevenenwho is married to Kate’s brother, James Middleton.
