Tristan Tate is facing

Romanian authorities have launched an investigation into the British-American influence of Tristan Teyt about the allegations that he violated election laws by posting political content on social media during the country’s recent presidential election.

The probe confirmed by police sources focused on social media, which is allegedly shared on election day and included direct or implicit political information that is illegal in Romania.

The 36-year-old Tate brother is a contradictory impact of Andrew Tate, 38 years old, a self-recorded misogist. The pair has combined social media after 13 million.

Both are investigated by the Romanian authorities in a separate case about a number of charges they deny.

The latest investigation was opened by the Ilf district police after receiving an official complaint.

It is claimed that Tate may have tried to influence voters through a position in social media, which could create crimes of interference with foreign elections and agitation in limited periods.

He was summoned for questioning on Tuesday. According to official sources, Andrew is not involved in this case.

BBC contacted Tate for comments. He did not issue any public statement about the investigation.

But in the video, obviously published on the X election day, Tate says he “does not campaign” and as an “American man using the American platform, in Dubai to talk about political problems”, he is “not subject” without Romania’s campaign law.

In recent years, the Tate brothers have built a large -scale internet presence on social media. They have attracted frequent critics about abusive statements about women.

Both were arrested in Romania in December 2022, and Andrew accused of rape and trafficking in human trafficking.

They both denied the allegations and held a few months under house arrest. A year and a half later, in August 2024, they encountered new accusations in Romania, including sex with minors they denied.

They also face 21 accusations in the UK, including rape, actual bodily harm and trafficking in human beings.

At the time of the arrest warrant received by the Bedfordshire police in March 2024, Teits stated that they “categorically dismissed all the charges” and were “very innocent people”.

The Romanian court ruled that they could only be extradited to the UK after some cases against them ended in Romania.

The prosecutor’s office unexpectedly lifted a two -year ban on travel earlier this year, after which the brothers went from Romania to Florida in February 2025.

They returned to Romania in March 2025, telling reporters that “innocent men from anything.”
