More than 200 militants attacked the Niger’s army near Mali, leaving at least 34 soldiers of the dead, the country’s defense ministry said.
The attackers described by the ministry as “mercenaries” – conducted a search in the Banibang’s western city on Thursday, injuring 14 other soldiers.
The ministry said in the battle of his forces killed “dozens of terrorists”.
Niger’s military is under pressure for the fact that they do not stop the attacks, one of its justifications in the deposit of the democratically elected President Mohammed Bazum in 2023.

The ruling Junta Niger kicked French and American forces, which actively participated in the fight against jihadists.
West African neighbors Niger, Burkina -fas and Mali face rebels of different groups of jihadists operating across the Sahel region.
Three countries created an alliance to combat jihadists and scale communication with the West, contacting Russia and Turkey instead for their safety needs.
But the violence continued.
