Charlie George He may have gone viral for a sad picture with his suitcase as he leaves the Love Island USA Villa, but the islander all smiles as he reflects on his time in Fiji.
Weekly US Catched up with Charlie, 27, Wednesday, June 18, to talk about his connection with Hannah (and what he believes will happen with her and Pepe), his repentance for his conversation with Amaya And what goes down with the other islanders – cough, cough Jeremiah and Enchant.
Let’s go back to the beginning. Can you tell me about your initial connection with Hannah and why have you worked as a couple?
From the moment of that baseball challenge, she jumped out and was this small ray of light, high energy, similar to myself. We immediately clicked. I can’t explain it. It was different from anyone else in the villa. We were straight all over each other. We were like toddlers, laughing, gigging, Giddy and walking around the villa – a lot of kissing. I think we’re just growing that and then, obviously, we had our situation.
Before recovering what is now famous, you talked to Amaya about trying to pursue something with her. What we didn’t see That led to that decision? And do you regret it? For he did not go as good.
Yes, of course. Let’s address that about what it was. I’m drawing Amaya for a conversation and I was confused and hurt and felt like I have to draw someone for a chat. I never wanted to explore other people. I was happy and happy with Hannah, but I was in a position where I also saw her going for another conversation with Pepe. Everyone tells me, ‘Love Island is about exploration. You sit here, you put all your eggs in one basket and possibly if there is recovery, it seems to be going to choose Pepe. Go explore. ‘And there was never a close connection with me and Amaya. I had a soft spot for her. She was an emotional girl and was a mistake because she eventually added and helped her vote, my fall. The truth is that I feel I had to (pull it) and I never wanted to.
In the recovery, you immediately plead this to the other islanders. What was going through your mind when you started giving that little speech? Many people compare it to A big brother When you plead to not be evicted.
Not that I’m not giving up. These guys don’t even know the conversation I just had with Hannah. They do not understand that we have just passed our first obstacle. We are literally strengthened. We came downstairs ready for the world. All they know is that we’ve been a little rocky. I had that moment and that opportunity to set – it was about me fighting for my opportunity to grow and see what happened with me and Hannah. No one else set! If you’re going to vote, I’m at least going out fighting. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.
Were you hopeful?
I always knew I would be the easiest vote, just because the girls were going to go with Huda and they had good association with Taylor as well. know I’m in trouble. However, when Amaya stood up – what people don’t realize is that I actually shared moments with Amaya where I comforted her, where she was crying and where she was sad. Me and Hannah both. We often made jokes, Amaya even made these jokes that I was Hannah as her parents – constantly taking care of her.
So I thought, ‘Wow, hold a moment. Amaya may save me ‘because she knows what I had Hannah.’ She said in the conversation with Hannah that she understood why I pulled her for a conversation – because I was acting recently and I was hurt – but she still decided to vote for me. That vote was the most disappointing, because people don’t realize that I really rooted it all the time and clung to it. I was happy that ACE was chosen in terms of the fact that she was going to have a chance to go on the journey as well, but I was just humbled that she had done (voted for me) and really ruined what happened. He was cruel.
Were you mad at all your friend Austin for not fully understanding how the voting process worked?
(Laughs) Nah. I think he looked at us and thought (Taylor’s) who in his opinion had the weakest connection here, and went on. Austin is a real guy who did not necessarily think tactically. Huda and Jeremiah had been together since the beginning, so they had clearly set up some sort of connection. Everyone knew me and Hannah had something different in it. He was intense and strong. Then I think he looked at Taylor and thought, ‘I don’t know if Olandria and Taylor are (are) so strong.’
It’s so early in the show, but did you have any hope at that moment that Hannah is going to leave with you? I know when you were leaving, you asked her to give you a shot if it comes out of this single.
No. Look, Love Island is such a rare, unique experience that the fact that I have been robbed does not mean it should be stolen from it as well. We were just on that edge – if it had been another week or two – it may have felt that way or might have been different. But I can’t judge it or blame it. My mind never crossed.
I know you don’t have your phone back yet, but there are a couple of moments that have become very viral, including Hannah crying with a picture of you guys from the photo booth and also you look so sad as your suitcase before you leave.
The emotions are real. I was humbled when I arrived back to the hotel and compressed and all the adrenaline had disappeared. I was all over the place. The picture (Hannah), I really gave her. I came out and said, ‘Listen, take this.’ And she shouted on our bed. People don’t understand that conversation we had. He was condemned down. We had a lovely, long conversation solving each other’s brain and where we were.
Hannah is clearly still in the villa. She has given Pepe another shot. She thinks there could be more for him. Do you think she’s going to get hurt in this?
All I know is when I spoke to Pepe, it was about exploring people. He said, ‘If someone comes over, that’s my experience.’ He does not want to waste his new experience stuck with one girl. So, who knows what goes down with that. She has moved on and gave the guy a chance. It worries me because I can’t help but think it should have been me. It’s hard. We’ll see what happens with that. Personally, I think they should send me back in.
Would you go back?
One hundred percent. I’m ready to go. I think it shouldn’t be so soon. Give it some time, let’s see how they get on and then send me back through those doors.
A few questions about your fellow -members. As someone who was there, what do you make from Huda and Jeremiah – is it toxic? Does America misunderstand their connection? Or is it a combination?
I always felt like those two would (he would) end him for themselves. There were not many things that should not have been blown up. The pancake example, for example, the guy up every morning made pancakes. The same morning he’s busy and can’t make a pancake, (he said), ‘Oh, you let another man make me pancake?’ No man wants to have to deal with that. There were not many things that made the relationship to be toxic and I naturally think that was going to create a problem.
Were you surprised to learn Jeremiah chosen Iris in the latest recovery?
Good for him. I love Jeremiah. Jeremiah is my friend. I miss that guy so much-what a handsome, polite man is.
By the way, I just want to say that if you are really satisfied and happy with the person you are with there, you might feel like you have to explore – but sometimes you might not want to. It is very difficult to explore someone when your feelings are not there. So, if he didn’t really want to explore during that time, he didn’t want to explore. But now – with everything that has happened – now is it the right time. Iris is a lovely girl. Let’s see what happens.
Do you have a prediction for Huda’s next movement? And did you know in that villa She is a mother?
I didn’t find out she was a mother until I watched the chapters back. I have no judgment on that, but no, I didn’t know. I do not know her next steps. If Jeremiah decides that he wants to start growing with someone else, he would obviously be in a very open position.
What about Taylor and Olandria? I feel like an audience member, I don’t see the connection completely. But he chose to still see him over a jal.
I was surprised by that. I thought she was going to go with a jal. The situation did not appear to have been sketched when it was recovered (with a jalen). I know everyone is different – not everyone kisses in front of everyone, like me and Hannah doing – maybe something (more there). I think they still work each other out. Obviously, he stood over Cierra and everything, so, perhaps, there is something deeper that we don’t know.
You also have to remember when you spend a lot of time with someone (the villa), you feel a sense of comfort. I think that’s also where it can get confused. ‘Do I really like this girl in a close, romantic way or do I feel confused about her?’ That’s the difference in it and you have to be able to work out (when someone (new) walks in.
Who would you say is the strongest – and weakest – couple in the villa? Your man Austin is now with Amaya.
Let’s see how Ace and Chelley grow. I want my man Austin to do well. I couldn’t make a strongest case for weakest ‘because I really don’t know where all their heads are.
