Maren Morris opens for his divorce from Ryan Hurd.
The singer, 35, addressed the end of her marriage to Hurd, 38, on a Thursday, June 19 issue of the “TherapussPodcast.
“In Nashville, you know I’ve divorced for just over a year now,” said Morris. “It’s a small town and we’re all friends and we’re all working together, and the music industry is very small there.”
She said she was “very friendly with my former member and we have our son (Hayes, 5), that’s always our biggest priority. It’s strange because we are together for so long until so many of our friends have to sort….”
“Choose sides?” host interfered with Jake Shane.
“Yes, well, just in respect of each other,” replied Morris. “I saw a very close friend of my former in a bar a few months ago, and I was with my best friend, and we all used to socialize together for a decade or more – and then it’s like, damn, it’s going to be a kind of wonder. Maybe it’s strange for the first few years, I don’t know.”
Morris and Hurd first met during a writing session for Mcugraw teamSong “Last Turn Home” in 2013. The duo was friends for two years before their relationship turned romantic. Hurd offered Morris in July 2017, and married the couple in March 2018, welcoming Hayes two years later.
In 2023, Morris filed for a divorce of Hurd. The exes complete their separation The following year, sharing Hayes’ custody jointly.

She told “Therapuss” that she had lost friendship because of the split and other life changes over the past few years. She said she felt “like (the) Covid (pandemic) changed a lot of people. When I got my son, I could feel people falling away.”
She added that new maternity is “already such a lonely time, and you are very isolated,” but she certainly made friends who are mothers throughout the process, and there are some badass b **** es that brought me through many that, but yes, you are naturally a kind of realization, ‘o those people probably put me in a different drawer.’ ”” ”” ”” ”” ”” ”
Earlier this month, Morris appeared on the podcast “Dear Chelsea” and said she was “lucky” that she and Hurd “love each other so much,” adding, “we have the highest respect, but also that devastation that two people (who) do not love each other who can’t do it that he can’t make it work in the real world.”
