Jj spaun who received the most memorable moment from his golf career in the US 2025 Open Championship, but the euphoric result equally overwhelming to his wife and two daughters.
Spaun, 34, sank an incredible 64ft on the 18th hole at Oakmont Country Club on Sunday, June 15, to win the tournament and take his first main home.
The golfer’s wife, Melody spaunand the couple’s two daughters – Emerson4, and Violent23 months – he was on hand to celebrate with JJ, he remembered in a unique interview with Weekly US on Tuesday, June 17.
“You go from this huge, euphoric moment to now you count your scorecard, and you’re whispering to the Green Green and now you have to make this huge speech on national TV and you try to thank everyone you want to thank,” said JJ. “You try to talk off the trunk. It’s wild. Especially for me, I’m not always in these situations. Not to mention a big championship. It was wild for all of us.”
The occasion was made even more chaotic considering the fact that JJ and Melody younger girl, Violet, was violently ill the night before the last round of the tournament – who saw JJ doing Heroic Journey 3 am to CVs.
“My wife had to deal with all the stress of getting the girls there and making sure they looked cute for TV,” said JJ. “Having to run out at the right time and be up to date. I know it’s stressed to her.”
She added, “She didn’t hit a shot, but she feels drained just being the backbone of our whole family.”

“She didn’t know what she was coming into,” said JJ with laughing. “It would be one thing if he was a golfer, at least competitive, to know the career I was about to get started. He would have had a kind of idea about what to expect.”
JJ and Melody married in July 2019 and, since then, have calculated a way to make it all work on the flight.
“My hat is for her for being such a huge support and understanding all these steps in my journey, learning as she goes” JJ flowed for a tune. “And then also raising two children where I’ve gone for a month on a month, you know? Single parenting basically.”
JJ continued, “There are so many times when we lose each other, we can’t be together, because I’m on the road and she’s trying to pick up these two women on her own as I try to make a living and provide for them. There are tons of sacrifice.
