Former Patron of the National Cricket Team of England, Jos Buttler, has given a final verdict on the captaincy of the newly appointed Testing Pattern of the India Cricket Team Shubman Gill.
Jos Buttler said that Shubman Gill will be a good mix of Kohli’s virating aggression and Rohit Sharma’s calmness as leader of the Indian test team.

Shubman Gill will begin his term as a test captain of India with the five -game test series against the National Clicet team in England. After replacing Rohit Sharma at the helm, Shubman Gill will aim to create history by directing India to a victory in the series of testing in England.
Over the years, the Indian team has struggled to do it in English soil, with its last victory in the Testing series in 2007 under the leadership of the legendary Rahul Dravid.
Shubman Gill does not have a lot of experience in captaincy internationally, as he directed Team India in only five games of T20i, winning -ne four and losing one.
However, he has gained an important experience of leadership in Capitano the Titans of Gujarat (GT). The IPL 2025 was its best season as a pattern because it brought GT to the Playoffs and scored the races constantly.
Shubman Gill could have received a good help from Jos Buttler as he ran GT, and now he has shared his thoughts on the newly appointed Indian Test Captain.
In an interaction about the podcast of Cricket love, Jos Buttler said Gill is a very impressive player, and that he would be a good mix of his two predecessors, whipped Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Said (as spnkricinfo cited):
“He is a really impressive player and an impressive young man. He is quite quiet and measured when he speaks, but (is) interesting, I feel that in the field he has a little fight for him; a little intensity, quite passionate. I think it will be a mix of Kohli and Rohit.”

The Great Jos Buttler of England, Jos Buttler, said that Shubman Gill has learned a lot from Kohli, who brings great aggression and intensity as a leader, as well as Rohit Sharma, who is more in his approach. Said:
“Kohli (was) this kind of true aggressive (character), really transformed the Indian team, on the face, on the face for the contest. Jos Buttler also talked about fame and power that has an Indian test captain in the country and said:
“I do not think we can understand the level of interest and the star that these boys have. You see it around the IPL, you are aware of it, but in fact you live yourself …”
“I think they say that the Indian test captain is like the third or fourth most influential person in India, behind the Prime Minister, etc., so he will really put you in this pedestal.”
Buttler, in the end, predicted that the “Prince” Shubman Gill would be beating at the number 4 and would have big shoes to fill because, for two decades, Sachin tendulkar and whispered Kohli beat in this position. Stated:
“Kolhi is the king, Shubman is the prince: This is the narrative that they turn around, and I feel that he is the man who comes … entering the number 4, he is big shoes, right?
